2009 Milwaukee Scene Fantasy Football League Season Thread

Last week before the playoffs and pretty much all the spots are wrapped up.

Rysguys vs FC USA
Rysguys is pretty much out of contention but he can play spoiler in a way by beating FC USA putting the coveted #1 seed up for grabs if Team Bowie also loses.

Team Creeper vs Team Bowie
This game only can affect the seeding. If Team Creeper wins that puts both teams in a tie with 8-5 records thus forcing the total points tie breaker.

Persian Mafia vs Clever Team Name
This game only can affect the seeding. If Clever Team Name wins that puts him at 8-5 and potentially tied for the top spot.

The Enigma vs Compliment Sandwich
The Enigma can lock up a playoff spot with a win, while also dropping Compliment Sandwich out of contention for the top spot. If Compliment Sandwich wins he could be in contention for the top spot AND potentially put The Enigma out of the playoffs.

Camp Craka vs Local Action Heroes
If this were a game we could watch on TV this would be the game to see. A Local Action Heroes win guarantees a playoff spot and puts Camp Craka completely out of the playoff picture. A Camp Craka win puts the last 2 playoff spots into tie breaker mode on points.

The most interesting scenario would be the following:
FC USA 8-5
Team Bowie 8-5
Clever Team Name 8-5
Compliment Sandwich 8-5
Team Creeper 8-5
Persian Mafia 6-7
The Enigma 5-8
Local Action Heroes 5-8
Camp Cracka 5-8
Rysguys 4-9

In this scenario the top 5 playoff spots will be determined by total points. Currently Clever Team Name leads with 1453, FC USA is -17, Compliment Sandwich -64, Team Bowie -67, Team Creeper -75.

The last 2 playoff spots will be determined by total points as well. Currently Camp Craka leads with 1379, Local Action Heroes -41, and The Enigma -67.

Side note on this subject, even though points will determine seeding, they won’t determine the $50 payout. Per the league site Josh posted this message on August 10th.

“In the event that we have a tie for overall league winner, it will then be determined by head to head record. In the event that you were one of the teams that faced each other 2 times this season and you split the games, then the overall winner will be decided by Most Points Scored. So, 1st is the overall record, 2nd is the head to head record, and lastly is the overall points scored.”

With the potential for 5 teams tied for 1st place this would be a cluster fuck of all proportions. Not one team has an unbeaten record over ALL tied teams, nor have all teams faced each other an equal number of times. So then it reverts to points right?

Josh you probably need to rule on this one prior to the weeks games kicking off rather than waiting for this to be reality and making a decision then.

Last little fun fact…..of the 14 players I drafted, I only have 4 players still on my team. Those players were drafted round 1, 2, 5, and 9. Boy did I suck it up on draft day!
