Just putting the hooks into the ceiling is a no no. You need to drill the holes and run a wire support either behind the wall or above the ceiling. That way your weight is evenly distributed.
yes ya monkey...I'm well aware of how "it's technically" supposed to be installed. U actually need to go thru ceiling joists to ensure you don't bring down the ceiling. however, you can't just go drilling holes in an apartments ceiling, let alone, be given the permission to crawl into the rafters of your apartment and install a sex swing. thus.....I need to see if someone has every done this the way I'm suggesting.....ie...the modified engine lift idea. |

um... why not just get a sex swing frame? that seems like it would be easier. and i know they make them collapsible, because i was at a Pure Romance party where the lady whipped one out and had it set up in just a couple of minutes in case any of us wanted to give the love swing a, uh, dry run.

ummm...it's still in a box somewhere here...(it was outta commission when i lived at the cottage) the only problem is that since we live in an upper...and there is this ugly drop ceiling in the bedroom  but i think i can find a way around it...and maybe have the drop ceiling work to my advantage this time...so no one ever asks...'why the hell is there a giant bike hook over your bed?'  |

we don't have one (so i haven't done any hardcore research on them) but from the quick searches i did on google, you should be able to fit one in a corner. looks like you'd need a 6x6 or 4x6 space for it if you left it up all the time. i didn't see the stand online that i saw at the toy party (she carried it in under her arm and had it up in less than 5 minutes), but there were a couple of other collapsible ones that you'd be able to store in a closet or under the bed, and then you could set it up in the middle of your living room if you wanted. http://www.pleasuremenow.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2591http://healthyandactive.com/four-point-sex-swing-stand.html those are two that i saw. i looked at Good Vibrations, but their search only worked on DVDs and no one was online to ask, but they might be able to point you in the right direction if they don't carry any. there was also one that went on a door frame, but you had to have the door closed to use it, and that's just lame. i prolly *should* look into getting one. then we could stop worrying about whether or not our landlord is downstairs listening to our bed squeak... let me know if you find anything useful.  |
