A Chicago man who was missing for almost two weeks was found dead in the garage of a south side Milwaukee home Wednesday, and police are continuing to investigate the suspicious circumstances of his death today.
Milwaukee police Capt. James Shepard said a 27-year-old man whose house and garage is in the 3900 block of S. 1st Place near Howard Ave. was arrested Wednesday on charges of hiding a corpse.
The incident began with a concert at the Riverside Theater on Nov. 8, which was attended by the Chicago man, 31, and his female roommate. After the concert, Shepard said, the man and his roommate went to a party on the east side.
At the party, the victim left with the 27-year-old Milwaukee resident and did not return. Drugs were possibly involved, Shepard said.
Later, the female returned to Chicago alone. She didn't report her roommate missing to Milwaukee police until Nov. 21.
Shepard said police then found the 27-year-old from the party and discovered the Chicago man's body in the garage. Shepard wouldn't say where in the garage they found the body, but he said there were no obvious signs of injuries.
An autopsy is being conducted today to determine the cause of death, Shepard said.
